Worship lies at the heart of our Christian life at Holy Cross Church. It is in worship that we express love of God, pray for our concerns for the world and meet together as a faithful community. We are privileged to share worship together not just on Sundays, but throughout the week.
Our main Eucharist is at 10.45 am every Sunday morning. At this service we worship God with all our senses through speech and listening, through sight, sound and smell. After the service we serve Refreshments in the hall, with tables and chairs set out to encourage mixing and a chat. We also hold a service at 8.00 am on the first and third Sunday of each month.
Our regular weekly worship follows the following pattern:
8.00 am Eucharist (1st & 3rd Sundays)
10.45 am Parish Eucharist
7.00 pm Holy Communion (from the Tabernacle)
9.30 am Eucharist
12 noon Holy Communion (from the Tabernacle) This service is followed by a light lunch.
In recent years Holy Cross church has broadened the worship on offer to Bilbrook. This has included occasional ‘Celebration’ services at the main Sunday morning worship time. The Celebration service still has the Eucharist at its heart, but the style of worship is more inclusive, the talk is aimed at the younger members of the congregation and the songs are led by our music group with piano, drums and vocals. The service is planned by an enthusiastic group led by our Reader.
You can find details of our upcoming celebration services and other special services on our Special Services news feed.
We hope you feel that you can join us at one of our many services. If you are new to church, why not try coming to one of our Celebration services, a warm welcome always awaits you.
